Top Broker of the Month

Open an Exness account and practice trading with a resettable $10,000 demo — zero risk to your own money.

There is no single broker that is best for every investor in Turkey. Choosing among the best brokers in Turkey depends on which market you want to access, the types of assets, the cost, the trading platform that suits you, and the regulator that licenses the entity where you plan to open an account.

If your goal is to buy Turkish stocks, start by comparing brokers authorized by the Capital Markets Board of Turkey (SPK) that offer trading on Borsa İstanbul, and review ownership, custody, and execution fees.

For global markets, first decide whether you want to buy actual shares or trade derivatives based on their prices. Rules and services vary by product and entity; a foreign forex broker offering leverage is not automatically a substitute for a broker authorized in Turkey.

It is important to distinguish between the two: a broker accepting a client who resides in Turkey does not mean it is licensed in Turkey, and foreign licensing does not replace the need to verify that the broker has the appropriate authorization to provide services locally.

Best Brokers in Turkey

The reviews below describe brokers’ trading platforms, fees, instruments, and accounts. Before relying on them to choose a broker in Turkey, check that the entity is authorized to provide the service you need. A review of a global broker does not mean it is authorized to offer leveraged forex trading to local residents.

How Do You Choose the Best Broker in Turkey?

To choose a suitable broker in Turkey, compare three key factors: licensing and client fund protection, total cost and execution quality, and the assets, accounts, and trading platform that suit your approach. Don’t choose a broker based solely on the lowest minimum deposit or the highest leverage.

What Should You Check About Licensing and Client Fund Protection?

Check the name of the company you will contract with, its license number, and the scope of activities it is authorized to provide in the regulator’s official register. Then review the rules for segregating client funds, the negative balance protection policy, the complaints process, and your eligibility for any compensation scheme. Don’t assume that every license held by the group or every protection benefit applies to your account.

How Do You Compare Trading Costs and Execution Quality?

Compare the total cost of the instrument you plan to trade, including the spread, commission, position-holding fees, currency conversion, and any other fees that apply to your account. Also review the order execution policy; the quoted spread alone is not enough to estimate the cost of a trade.

Which Accounts, Trading Platforms, and Customer Services Do You Need?

Make sure the broker accepts residents of Turkey, offers the instruments and trading platform you need, and supports funding methods that suit you. If you need an account with no overnight charges, review the waiver terms, alternative fees, and instruments covered. Also compare how easy it is to contact customer support and whether service is available in your preferred language, such as Arabic.

Comparing the Best Brokers in Turkey

The following table compares the four brokers featured in the reviews by rating, minimum deposit, how to activate an Islamic account, trading platforms, spreads, and the ability to buy actual shares.

The ratings are editorial estimates based on Trading Beavers’ methodology for evaluating brokers. This information does not establish that these brokers are authorized by the SPK or that their services are available to residents of Turkey. Check eligibility and licensing for the specific product before comparing fees and trading platforms, especially when using leverage.

Leading Global Brokers and Their Availability to Residents of Turkey

The following table provides information about some of the global brokers included in the comparison, such as their founding year and reported customer numbers worldwide. These figures do not mean that a company is the most widely used in Turkey or that it is licensed locally. Check whether it accepts residents and which entity you would contract with; registration being available does not prove that the company is licensed in Turkey.

How Does Trading Turkish Stocks Differ From Trading in Global Markets?

Trading Turkish stocks lets you buy shares in companies listed on Borsa İstanbul through a broker that offers this service. Some firms may also provide access to international markets. Compare share ownership, custody, and whether you can transfer your shares, and don’t treat an actual share as equivalent to a CFD based on its price.

How Do You Choose a Brokerage Firm for Trading Turkish Stocks?

Start with the brokers section on the SPK website. Its activity authorization database included 70 brokerage firms (Aracı Kurum) at the time of review, classified as having broad, partial, or limited authorization. Then compare stock purchase commissions, data fees, custody and transfer fees, and access to the market you want. Don’t assume that all firms offer forex or foreign markets on the same terms.

The SPK regulates the capital markets, Borsa İstanbul is the market, and the broker executes your orders. A bank or app with a similar name is no substitute for verifying which entity you’re signing an investment agreement with and what type of service it provides.

Examples of Local Brokerage Firms in Turkey

These are examples of local firms for comparison, not a ranking of the best. The following data comes from the SPK’s activity authorization database and shows that all three firms are active and hold broad authorization (Geniş Yetkili). However, broad authorization does not mean a firm holds every authorization. Check that it is authorized for the activity you need, and don’t assume one firm’s authorizations apply to another product or entity.

How to Verify a Brokerage Firm’s License and Avoid Scams in Türkiye

To verify the license of a broker in Türkiye or an international broker that accepts clients from Türkiye, use the company’s legal name as it appears in the client agreement. Then match its license number, status, scope of activities, and website details against the regulator’s official register.

The Capital Markets Board of Türkiye (SPK) regulates capital markets and provides resources for checking brokers and their authorizations. Its remit differs from that of the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (TCMB) and the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK). A bank’s or payment provider’s license does not, by itself, authorize it to offer every investment product.

Do not rely on images of licenses or logos alone, because some fraudulent platforms may impersonate a licensed company or use a website that resembles the original.

Is Forex Trading Legal in Türkiye?

The SPK’s February 2023 statement on forex explains that investors residing in Türkiye may conduct leveraged forex transactions only through entities authorized by the board.

The statement classifies offering these transactions to residents through unauthorized entities as the crime of unauthorized capital market activity, punishable under Article 109 of Capital Markets Law No. 6362 by two to five years in prison and a judicial fine of 5,000 to 10,000 day-units.

The board also files criminal complaints against those who facilitate this activity through advertising or by making their bank accounts and phone lines available, and it takes legal steps to block access to noncompliant websites. A foreign license, such as one from the FCA or ASIC, does not replace the Turkish authorization required for this service.

For domestic forex trading, the maximum leverage is 1:10, and the minimum initial margin is 50,000 Turkish lira or the equivalent in foreign currencies, under the SPK amendment to Communiqué III-37.1 published in the Official Gazette on February 10, 2017, which lowered the maximum leverage from 1:100 to 1:10. These requirements apply to leveraged forex trading; they are not a general minimum for opening any stock account in Türkiye.

Do not treat offers of 1:500 leverage or a small deposit with an overseas platform as a way to bypass Turkish requirements. If you want to buy foreign stocks directly, review the rules and services for that investment separately, along with the entity you contract with and the custody and funding arrangements.

How to Identify the Regulator Overseeing Your Account

Start with the legal entity named in the client agreement, then look it up in the official register of the regulator identified there. Match the license status, scope of activity, website, and contact details; do not rely only on the brand name or regulatory logos.

Search by legal name in the current Activity Authorization Database (Mevcut Faaliyet İzinleri). Select the firm to view its status, classification, document date, and authorization types, or search by the authorization type itself, such as “Kaldıraçlı Alım Satım İşlemleri.” Match the relevant activity, address, website, and agreement details; a brand name or an image of a license held by another company in the group is not enough.

What Are the Warning Signs of Trading Scams in Turkey?

Fraudulent trading platforms may use the names of legitimate companies or regulatory logos to persuade investors to transfer money. So do not rely on an advertisement or license image alone. Watch for the following behaviors before sharing your information or making a transfer.

  • Guaranteed profits or claims of no losses: Promises of high, guaranteed returns from trading are a warning sign, especially when used to persuade you to increase your deposit.
  • Pressure to transfer money quickly: Repeated calls or tying an offer to a short deadline to keep you from reviewing the company and its terms.
  • Impersonating a well-known company or person: Using a website that resembles the original or a fabricated promotional video. Verify the web address and contact details through an official source independent of the advertisement.
  • Unverified payment instructions: A request to transfer money to a personal account or an entity whose relationship to the broker is unclear, with no official document explaining its role.
  • Requests for additional money to release a withdrawal: Requiring a new transfer labeled as a tax to release profits or an unfreezing fee, with no verifiable basis. Do not pay before independently verifying the request.
  • Requests for access to your account or device: A request for your password or verification code, or to install remote-control software under the pretext of helping you trade or recover your money.

If you suspect fraud, stop making further transfers and contact your bank or payment provider immediately. Keep your messages, receipts, and the website address, and contact the police and the relevant regulator as appropriate. The SPK urges people to submit complaints about unlicensed forex offers through the CİMER platform. Filing a report does not guarantee that you will recover your money. For steps to protect your account before and after depositing, see our guide to Protecting Yourself from Fraudulent Forex Brokers.

What Are the Best Trading Platforms and Apps in Turkey?

There is no single trading platform that is best for everyone in Turkey; the right choice depends on the markets you trade, the order types and tools you need, and the device you use.

You should distinguish between a trading platform and a brokerage firm. A broker may offer its own app or provide access to an external platform such as MetaTrader. So evaluating the app’s appearance alone is not enough; also check the broker’s license, account fees, order execution policy, and available assets.

What Should You Compare Across Trading Apps in Turkey?

When comparing trading apps, focus on how easy it is to place orders, monitor positions, and view account information clearly. Try the tasks you expect to do every day on your phone, then evaluate the app using these criteria:

  • Clear order entry: How easy it is to set a position size, review the order details, and add or modify stop-loss and take-profit orders.
  • Account information: How clearly the app shows your balance, used margin, fees, and transaction history.
  • Monitoring and analysis tools: Whether it offers the charts, indicators, and price alerts you need, and how easy they are to use on your phone.
  • Stability and ease of use: Test navigation and position monitoring on your device with a demo account, keeping in mind that the experience does not prove execution quality on a live account.

What Is the Difference Between Third-Party Platforms and Broker Apps?

A broker may offer a third-party platform that you link to your trading account, or its own app that combines some trading and account-management features. The fact that two brokers offer the same platform does not mean they have the same tools, fees, or execution terms; check those details with each broker.

For Turkish stocks, compare apps from authorized brokers based on order execution, portfolio monitoring, statements, alerts, and market data fees. Check which services your account actually includes; a bank app or price-tracking app does not necessarily give you access to every market or product.

What Are the Terms and Fees for Islamic Accounts in Turkey?

When choosing an Islamic trading account in Turkey, do not rely on the “Islamic” or “Swap-Free” label alone. Check which instruments are covered by the exemption, how long it lasts, whether any administrative or holding fees begin after a specified period, and the terms for activating the account and maintaining eligibility.

Eliminating overnight fees addresses only one aspect of a transaction. A Sharia assessment may also require reviewing the nature of the contract, ownership and possession, leverage, and the settlement mechanism. For a detailed guide to comparing these accounts, see choosing an Islamic forex trading account.

What Should You Review Before Opening an Islamic Trading Account in Turkey?

  • Instruments covered: Check whether the exemption applies to the assets you intend to trade, not just to an account labeled Islamic.
  • Exemption period: Check whether there is a grace period and when fees begin to apply to open positions.
  • Alternative fees: Ask for the fee schedule, how fees are calculated, and when they apply, in addition to the usual spread and commissions.
  • Terms for activation and continued eligibility: Confirm whether the exemption applies automatically or requires an application and documents, and what circumstances allow it to be changed or canceled.
  • Nature of the transaction: Determine whether you are buying the asset outright or trading a derivative contract, and review the financing and settlement arrangements. Being exempt from overnight fees does not tell you everything about the trade.

Does a Swap-Free Account Mean Trading Is Halal?

No. Describing an account as swap-free primarily means that certain overnight fees are not charged under the broker’s terms. That alone is not enough to conclude that all transactions comply with Sharia. You must also assess the contract, the asset, ownership and possession, leverage, and the settlement method.

To distinguish among stock classifications, see our guide to rulings on trading pure, mixed, and prohibited stocks.

What Are the Best Brokers With Islamic Accounts in Turkey?

The following table compares how the four brokers activate Islamic accounts and whether they charge overnight fees, along with the type of trader each broker may suit, based on what the firms disclose. Before opening an account, check each broker’s terms for the instruments covered by the exemption, its duration, and any alternative fees. The account’s name does not establish whether the broker is licensed in Turkey, nor does it mean that all the broker’s products comply with Sharia.

What Markets and Financial Instruments Are Available to Traders in Turkey?

Available instruments vary depending on the institution’s license, the markets it supports, and client eligibility requirements. The following sections explain how the products differ; they do not mean that every global offering is available to residents of Turkey.

Before placing a trade, check whether you are buying the asset outright or trading a CFD on its price. Don’t rely solely on the stock’s name appearing on the platform.

Buying Stocks and Funds or Trading CFDs?

When you buy actual shares, you acquire ownership of shares, subject to the broker’s custody arrangements. When you buy units in an exchange-traded fund (ETF), you own units in the fund; the degree of diversification and the risks depend on the assets it invests in.

By contrast, stock CFDs let you trade on price movements without owning the underlying stock. Compare the two options in terms of ownership, fees, financing, and whether you can transfer the assets to another broker. Do not rely on similar product names on the platform.

If your goal is to buy and hold stocks, make sure the account supports actual shares. For an explanation of order basics and ownership, see our guide to stock trading for beginners.

Trading Forex, Gold, Commodities, and Indices in Turkey

When comparing services for trading forex, gold, commodities, and indices, review the type of contract the broker offers and its terms. For example, if the product is a CFD on gold or oil, you trade on price movements without owning the metal or commodity.

Distinguish between buying physical gold, investing in a financial instrument linked to gold, and trading a derivative contract based on its price. Compare ownership, delivery, custody, contract size, spread, and holding fees; check that the service is authorized if the product involves leverage.

To understand your options for gaining exposure to gold before choosing a broker, see the guide to ways to trade and invest in gold.

Can You Trade Cryptocurrencies From Turkey?

Buying a crypto asset is different from using it to make payments or fund a trading account. This guide does not present USDT or peer-to-peer transactions as a way to bypass forex requirements or a bank’s refusal to process a transfer in Turkey.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye’s Regulation on the Disuse of Crypto Assets in Payments, in effect since April 30, 2021, prohibits using crypto assets directly or indirectly for payments. The text also imposes restrictions on payment and electronic money services; this alone does not mean that all purchases or holdings of crypto assets are prohibited.

Following the amendment to Capital Markets Law No. 6362 under Law No. 7518 of 2024, SPK regulations governing crypto asset service providers took effect on March 13, 2025. They cover rules for establishment, licensing, operations, custody, and capital. What matters is the entity’s status and current authorization for its activities, not merely its claim that it operates in Turkey.

The SPK publishes a provisional list of crypto asset service providers that included 52 entities in its October 1, 2026, update. They include trading platforms and entities that have applied to provide custody services. The SPK explicitly states that an entity’s presence on the list does not mean it is authorized under the regulations. On September 23, 2026, the regulator also barred one listed platform, Bitexen, from accepting new clients or listing new assets until further notice. Therefore, do not describe Binance TR, Paribu, or any other provider as fully licensed based on this list alone.

Check the entity’s current regulatory status, the scope of its services, and its custody, transfer, and withdrawal terms. Distinguish between buying a cryptocurrency and being able to withdraw it to a wallet, and trading a derivative based on its price; each involves different risks and requirements.

What Are the Risks of Leverage and Margin in Trading?

Leverage lets you control a trading position larger than the amount required as margin. As a result, it amplifies the effect of price movements on your account, whether they work for or against you.

Leverage and margin requirements vary by broker, legal entity, account type, asset, and client classification, so no single ratio applies to all traders in Turkey. For a detailed explanation of how leverage works and how to calculate margin, see the guide to leverage in forex trading.

A simplified hypothetical example for an account denominated in lira: If you open a position worth 10,000 lira with 1:10 leverage, the maximum for domestic forex trading, the position’s initial margin might be 1,000 lira. A 1% price move against you would mean a theoretical loss of about 100 lira before accounting for the spread, commissions, and slippage, equal to 10% of the position’s margin in this example. The position margin here does not replace the 50,000-lira initial margin requirement for starting forex trading.

However, initial margin does not cap your losses. The actual outcome of a trade can vary because of market movements, forced-close rules, and price gaps. Negative balance protection also varies by entity and account.

Therefore, before using leverage, review the margin requirements, forced-close level, and position size, and decide how much you can afford to lose rather than choosing a broker based on the highest leverage available.

shield antivirus

A stop-loss order can help manage risk, but a standard order does not guarantee execution at the requested price during gaps or rapid market moves. Separately, check whether negative balance protection applies to your account; it is different from a stop-loss order and does not prevent you from losing your trading balance.

How Do You Choose a Forex Broker That Accepts Clients From Turkey?

When comparing forex brokers in Türkiye, first check whether they hold SPK authorization for this activity. At the time of review, the activity authorization database showed that 19 of the 70 brokerage firms held authorization to broker leveraged buy and sell transactions in the domestic market. Then compare spreads, commissions, holding fees, execution, margin, and the trading platform. Higher leverage from an offshore broker does not make its offer suitable or compliant with local requirements.

If you rely on MT4, MT5, or automated trading, check that the broker supports the platform and any tools or Expert Advisors you need before opening an account.

Also review overnight fees or Swap-Free account terms, as well as the deposit and withdrawal methods available to you. A broker accepting residents of Türkiye does not necessarily mean it holds a Turkish license.

How Do You Open a Trading Account in Türkiye Step by Step?

The steps for opening a trading account in Türkiye start with choosing a market and product. An account for stocks on Borsa İstanbul differs from a leveraged forex account and from a service for buying foreign stocks. Each has its own eligibility, documentation, and agreement requirements.

How Do You Open an Account With an International Broker in Türkiye?

  • Choosing a broker and account: Check whether the broker accepts residents of Türkiye, which entity will provide your service, and the assets, fees, and trading platform it offers.
  • Registration and identity verification: Enter your personal details and provide identity and address documents, along with any required financial or tax information.
  • Reviewing account terms: Check the product types, leverage, fees, and trading terms, and use a demo account if one is available.
  • Funding the account: First, check with your bank whether a transfer to the account for this purpose is permitted under foreign-exchange rules. Then use an eligible payment method in your own name and review the fees and withdrawal policy.

How Do You Open an Account to Trade Turkish Stocks?

Choose an authorized institution that offers access to the market you want, and start the account-opening process through its official website or branch. Ask for the list of documents required for your nationality and residency status; procedures for foreign residents may differ from those for citizens.

Prepare an identity document or passport, address and residency details, and the required tax or identification number for your situation. Complete the requested financial and investment information and suitability tests, and check whether you can open the account remotely or need to visit a branch.

Review the account agreement, risk disclosures, and fees for orders, custody, data, and transfers. For forex, also check the demo account terms, any tests required before live trading, and the initial margin.

Do not assume that an account with a global broker lets you buy Turkish stocks, or that a Borsa İstanbul account automatically includes foreign markets. Ask the provider to confirm which services are available, who owns the assets, which entity holds them in custody, and whether you can transfer your portfolio.

alert

Before opening a local account: Check the entity’s name and authorized activities with the SPK, and identify the market, product, and fees. After verification is complete, fund the account using a payment method in your name, following the institution’s official instructions.

What Deposit and Withdrawal Methods Are Available for Trading Accounts in Türkiye?

Deposit and withdrawal methods in Türkiye depend on the institution, product, and currency. Check the beneficiary bank account details, the entity’s name, and your investment account number, and confirm that transfers from a bank account in your own name are accepted.

Compare transfer fees in lira or foreign currencies, exchange rates, processing times, and refund policies. Ask your bank which documents an international transfer requires, and state its actual purpose. Do not send money to an account belonging to someone who claims to be your account manager: the SPK has warned that unlicensed forex offers often ask for transfers to bank accounts in Turkey.

Do not assume that every broker accepts Papara, Skrill, Neteller, or all cards. Use the funding methods listed for your account, and do not use a crypto asset or a third party’s account to get around a rejected transfer or licensing requirements.

Payment MethodWhat Should You Check?
Bank transferWhether a transfer is permitted for investment purposes and what documents are required, followed by the recipient’s details, currency, fees, and how long the transfer takes to arrive
Bank cardsWhether the account can be funded with this card, transaction limits, currency-related fees, and refund rules
E-walletsThe wallet’s regulatory status and whether investment transfers are permitted, followed by verification requirements and fees; do not use virtual assets

The withdrawal processing time is not necessarily the time it takes for the money to arrive. The published time may refer to how long the broker takes to approve the request; the bank or payment provider may then need additional time to deposit the funds into your account.

Always use the funding instructions shown on the official website or client area, and do not transfer money to a personal account or an entity whose relationship to the broker is unclear.

Are Trading Profits Taxed in Turkey?

Taxes on trading in Turkey vary according to tax residency, the instrument, and the type of income. Do not assume that the local withholding tax (Stopaj) applies to all gains from sales, distributions, and interest, or that all income through a foreign broker is exempt. Review guidance from the Turkish Revenue Administration (GİB) and the filing requirements for your situation.

As of 2026, a special exemption is available to certain people who become tax residents of Turkey. Law No. 7582 added Article 20/D (mükerrer 20/D) to the Income Tax Law. Under this provision, income and profits earned outside Turkey are exempt for up to 20 years for people who become residents on or after January 1, 2026, were not residents of Turkey during the previous three calendar years, and obtain an exemption certificate within the specified deadlines. GİB’s 2026 guidance explains the detailed conditions. This exemption does not automatically apply to every foreign national, every resident, or income earned in Turkey.

alert

Foreign investments may be subject to withholding or other obligations in the source country, and your tax residency outside Turkey may also affect your obligations. Check the tax treatment that applies to your circumstances and the assets you hold before assuming you are fully exempt.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Best Brokers in Turkey

What Is the Best Broker for Beginners in Turkey?

For a beginner, the best broker is one that offers access to the desired market, is appropriately licensed, charges transparent fees, provides an easy-to-use platform, and offers a demo account if available. First decide whether you want to buy actual shares or trade CFDs; the two services differ in ownership and risk.

How Can I Check Whether a Broker Is Licensed in Turkey?

Look up the legal name in the SPK’s database of activity permits for brokerage firms, then check the firm’s status and permit types and verify that its website, address, and contract match. A foreign license or a license held by another company in the same group does not replace the permit required for your account.

What Is the Minimum Amount Needed to Open a Trading Account in Turkey?

The minimum varies by broker, account, and deposit method. Check the actual account terms: the advertised minimum deposit may differ from the amount needed to buy an asset or cover the margin for a trade, and it does not determine how much is right for you.
