No single broker is best for every investor in Lebanon. Choosing the best brokers in Lebanon depends on the markets you want to access, the types of assets you want to trade, the costs, the trading platform that suits you, and the regulator that licenses the entity with which you plan to open an account.
If your goal is to buy Lebanese stocks, start by comparing firms that offer trading on the Beirut Stock Exchange (BSE). Check their exchange membership, ownership structure, and account fees.
If you want to trade forex, gold, stocks, or global markets, compare brokers that accept residents of Lebanon based on their licensing, costs, trading platforms, available assets, and deposit and withdrawal methods.
It is important to distinguish between two things: a broker accepting a client who lives in Lebanon does not mean it is licensed in Lebanon, and a foreign license does not remove the need to verify that the broker has the appropriate authorization to provide services locally.

How Do You Choose the Best Broker in Lebanon?
To choose a broker that suits you in Lebanon, compare three key factors: licensing and protection of client funds, total costs and execution quality, and the assets, accounts, and trading platform that suit your style. Don’t choose a broker based solely on its lowest deposit requirement or highest leverage.
What Should You Check About Licensing and Client Fund Protection?
Check the official register of the regulator for the name of the company you will be contracting with, its license number, and the scope of activities it is allowed to conduct. Then review the rules on client fund segregation, the negative balance protection policy, the complaints process, and your eligibility for any compensation scheme. Don’t assume that every license held by the group or every protection feature applies to your account.
How Do You Compare Trading Costs and Execution Quality?
Compare the total cost of the instrument you plan to trade, including the spread, commission, position-holding fees, currency conversion, and any other fees that apply to your account. Review the order execution policy as well: the quoted spread alone is not enough to estimate the cost of a trade.
What Accounts, Trading Platforms, and Customer Service Do You Need?
Make sure the broker accepts residents of Lebanon, offers the instruments and trading platform you need, and supports funding methods that work for you. If you need an account with no overnight fees, review the waiver terms, alternative fees, and instruments covered. Also compare how easy it is to contact customer support and whether service is available in Arabic.

Leading Global Brokers Available to Residents of Lebanon
The following table provides information about some of the global brokers included in the comparison, such as their founding year and reported customer counts worldwide. These figures do not mean that a company is the most widely used in Lebanon or that it is licensed locally. Check whether it accepts residents of Lebanon and which entity you would contract with, and do not treat the availability of registration as evidence of licensing in Lebanon.
How Does Trading Lebanese Stocks Differ From Trading in Global Markets?
Trading Lebanese stocks lets you buy and sell shares listed on the Beirut Stock Exchange, while global market trading covers other markets and instruments, depending on the broker’s services. A Lebanese institution may offer access to foreign markets, so identify the market, type of contract, and entity providing the service before comparing.
| Comparison | Trading Shares on the Beirut Stock Exchange | Trading in Global Markets |
|---|---|---|
| Available markets | Shares of companies listed on the Beirut Stock Exchange | Multiple markets and instruments, depending on the broker and account |
| Nature of ownership | Buying shares and registering ownership in accordance with market procedures | May involve buying actual shares or trading derivatives such as CFDs |
| Regulatory checks | Checking the institution’s licensing and authorization to trade on the exchange | Checking the contracted entity’s licensing and the scope of its services |
| Costs | Trading commissions and fees charged by the broker and the exchange | Commissions or spread; financing and currency conversion fees may also apply, depending on the instrument |
| Trading hours | Beirut Stock Exchange sessions | Vary by market, instrument, and broker |
How Do You Choose a Brokerage Firm for Trading Lebanese Stocks?
To buy locally listed shares, first check the institution in the Lebanese Capital Markets Authority’s register of approved institutions. Then verify that it can trade on the Beirut Stock Exchange and check its membership or execution arrangements. Compare order, custody, and securities transfer fees, as well as account and settlement requirements.
The presence of a financial institution or trading app in Lebanon does not mean it offers access to every share listed on the Beirut Stock Exchange or to all global markets. A Lebanese company also differs from foreign companies within the same group. Match the legal name in the client agreement to the service you need.
Which Financial Intermediation Institutions Are Approved by the Lebanese Capital Markets Authority?
The register of approved institutions maintained by the Capital Markets Authority divides entities into financial brokerage firms, banks, and financial institutions. The financial brokerage firms category lists the following 13 entities (as of October 2026). This is a reference list, not a ranking, and the approved activities differ by entity—for example, dealing, arranging, advising, or custody:
- Arab International Development & Investment CO. SAL
- Beirut Brokerage Corporation SAL
- Lebanese Dealers Corporation SAL
- Master Capital Group SAL
- XGlobal Lebanon SAL
- Trust Capital SAL
- Broadgate Advisers SAL
- RM Private Wealth Management SAL
- Capital EE SAL
- Amana Capital SAL
- Shenandoah Consulting SAL
- 4T S.A.L.
- Diligent Financial Services
The same registry also includes a category of financial institutions that may provide investment and trading services and also appear on the list of financial institutions published by Banque du Liban. Examples include:
| Lebanese entity | Verification reference | What to compare |
|---|---|---|
| Credit Financier Invest S.A.L. | No. 40 on Banque du Liban’s list of financial institutions; also listed as a financial institution in the Capital Markets Authority register | Compare product types, fees, and financing, and make sure you contract with the Lebanese entity if that is your goal. |
| Fidus S.A.L. | No. 10 on Banque du Liban’s list of financial institutions; also listed as a financial institution in the Capital Markets Authority register | Ask for details about the brokerage service, available markets, custody and settlement, and fees for the account you’re considering. |
How Can You Verify a Broker’s License and Avoid Scams in Lebanon?
To verify the license of a broker in Lebanon or an international broker that accepts clients from Lebanon, use the company’s legal name as it appears in the client agreement, then match its license number, status, scope of activities, and website details against the regulator’s official register.
The Lebanese Capital Markets Authority (CMA) regulates financial market activities within its jurisdiction, while banks and financial institutions are also subject to the relevant licensing and oversight frameworks of Banque du Liban (BDL). Start with the Authority’s register of approved institutions, check each institution’s classification and permitted activities, and don’t rely on the brand name alone.
Don’t rely on images of licenses or logos alone, because some fraudulent platforms may impersonate a licensed company or use a website that looks like the original.
Is Trading Forex Legal in Lebanon?
Lebanon has authorized local institutions that provide investment and trading services under the relevant regulatory frameworks. For example, Credit Financier Invest S.A.L. appears as No. 40 on Banque du Liban’s list of financial institutions and is also listed among financial institutions in the Capital Markets Authority register. But that doesn’t mean every platform that accepts residents of Lebanon is licensed locally. Verify the licensing, product, and account you would actually use before entering into an agreement.
Distinguish between currency exchange and trading forex contracts on margin, and between buying an actual asset and speculating through a CFD. Financial licensing does not automatically mean that every product offered on the group’s website is permitted or that all clients are eligible to use it.
The authority’s official FAQs explain that securities business is subject to a licensing and registration framework. If your account is with a foreign entity, check which authority supervises it and the terms for accepting residents of Lebanon. Acceptance of your registration does not mean the entity is licensed in Lebanon, nor does it transfer the protection offered by another company in the group to your account.
How Do You Identify the Regulator Overseeing Your Account?
Start with the legal entity named in the client agreement, then search for it in the official register of the regulator named. Check its licensing status, scope of business, website details, and contact information; don’t rely solely on the brand name or regulatory logos.
Check the register of institutions approved by the Capital Markets Authority and the list of financial institutions published by Banque du Liban, depending on the type of institution. Then ask for confirmation of the scope of activity, licensing status, and account terms. If the entity is foreign, use the register of the foreign regulator named in its agreement and cross-check its website and contact details.
What Are the Signs of Trading Fraud in Lebanon?
Fraudulent trading platforms may use the names of legitimate companies or regulatory logos to persuade investors to transfer money. So don’t rely on an advertisement or an image of a licensing document alone. Watch for the following behaviors before sharing your information or transferring any money.
- Guaranteed profits or claims of no losses: Promises of high, guaranteed returns from trading are a warning sign, especially when they are used to persuade you to increase your deposit.
- Pressure to transfer money quickly: Repeated calls or offers with short deadlines designed to keep you from reviewing the company and its terms.
- Impersonation of a well-known company or person: Using a lookalike website or a fake promotional video. Verify the web address and contact details using an official source independent of the advertisement.
- Unverified payment instructions: Asking you to transfer money to a personal account or an entity whose relationship to the broker is unclear, without official documentation explaining its role.
- Demanding extra money to release a withdrawal: Requiring a new transfer labeled as a tax to release profits or an account-unfreezing fee, without a verifiable basis. Don’t pay until you have independently verified the request.
- Requesting access to your account or device: Asking for your password or verification code, or asking you to install remote-control software under the pretext of helping you trade or recover your money.
If you suspect fraud, stop making further transfers and contact your bank or payment provider immediately. Keep your correspondence, receipts, and the website address, and contact the police. If the matter involves securities activity, you can also file a complaint through the Capital Markets Authority’s complaints page. Filing a report does not guarantee that you will recover your money. For steps to protect your account before and after making a deposit, see the guide to protecting yourself from fraudulent forex brokers.
What Are the Best Trading Platforms and Apps in Lebanon?
There is no single trading platform that is best for all users in Lebanon; the right choice depends on the markets you trade, the order types and tools you need, and the device you use.
You should distinguish between the trading platform and the brokerage firm; a broker may offer its own app or provide access to an external platform such as MetaTrader. So don’t judge an app by its appearance alone. Also check the broker’s licensing, account fees, order execution policy, and available assets.
What Should You Compare When Choosing Trading Apps in Lebanon?
When comparing trading apps, try the tasks you’ll use every day on your phone, then assess the app using these criteria:
- Order Execution Clarity: How easy it is to set the position size, review its details, and add or modify stop-loss and take-profit orders.
- Account Information: How clearly the app displays your balance, used margin, fees, and transaction history.
- Monitoring and Analysis Tools: Check whether it offers the charts, indicators, and price alerts you need, and how easy they are to use on your phone.
- Stability and Ease of Use: Use a demo account to test navigation and position monitoring on your device, keeping in mind that the experience does not establish the quality of execution on a live account.
What’s the Difference Between Third-Party Platforms and Broker Apps?
A broker may offer a third-party trading platform that connects to a trading account, or its own app that combines some trading and account management functions. The fact that two brokers offer the same platform does not mean they have the same tools, fees, or execution terms; check these details with each broker.
Choose an app that clearly supports the tasks you need, and check what the mobile version can do before relying on it. For local stocks, compare the brokerage apps offered by licensed financial institutions, and don’t confuse them with news apps or services that support shareholders.

What Are the Requirements and Fees for Islamic Accounts in Lebanon?
When choosing an Islamic trading account in Lebanon, don’t rely on the name “Islamic” or “Swap-Free” alone. Check which instruments are covered by the exemption, how long it lasts, whether administrative or position-holding fees apply after a specified period, and the requirements for activating the account and maintaining eligibility.
Waiving overnight fees addresses only one aspect of the transaction. A Sharia review may also require examining the nature of the contract, ownership and possession, leverage, and the settlement mechanism. For detailed steps on comparing these accounts, see the guide to choosing an Islamic forex trading account.
What Should You Review Before Opening an Islamic Trading Account in Lebanon?
- Eligible instruments: Check that the exemption applies to the assets you plan to trade, not just to the account based on its label.
- Exemption period: Check whether there is a grace period and when any fees on open positions begin.
- Alternative fees: Ask for the fee schedule, how fees are calculated, and when they apply, in addition to the usual spread and commissions.
- Activation and ongoing requirements: Check whether the exemption is automatic or requires an application and documents, and what circumstances allow it to be changed or canceled.
- Nature of the transaction: Determine whether you are actually buying the asset or trading a derivative contract, and review the financing and settlement arrangements; a waiver of overnight fees does not address every aspect of the trade.
Does a Swap-Free Account Mean Trading Is Halal?
No. Describing an account as swap-free basically means that certain overnight fees are not charged under the broker’s terms. This alone is not enough to determine that all transactions are Sharia-compliant. You must also assess the contract, the asset, ownership and possession, leverage, and the settlement method.
To distinguish between stock classifications, see the guide Ruling on Trading Pure, Mixed, and Prohibited Stocks.
What Are the Best Brokers With Islamic Accounts in Lebanon?
The following table compares how to activate an Islamic account and whether overnight fees apply at the four brokers, along with the type of trader each broker may suit, based on what the firms disclose. Check each broker’s terms before opening an account for details about the instruments covered by the exemption, its duration, and any alternative fees. Having a Swap-Free account does not mean all of a broker’s products are Sharia-compliant.
What Markets and Financial Instruments Are Available to Traders in Lebanon?
The assets available to clients of brokers in Lebanon vary from one broker to another. They may include stocks, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), forex, gold, commodities, and indices, but access methods differ.
Before placing a trade, check whether you are buying the asset outright or trading a CFD based on its price. Don’t rely solely on the stock’s name appearing on the trading platform.
Buying Stocks and Funds or Trading CFDs?
When you buy actual shares, you own shares subject to the broker’s custody arrangements. When you buy units in an exchange-traded fund (ETF), you own units in the fund. The degree of diversification and risk varies depending on the assets it invests in.
CFDs on stocks let you trade price changes without owning the underlying stock. Compare the two options in terms of ownership, fees, financing, and the ability to transfer assets to another broker. Don’t rely on product names that look similar on the trading platform.
If your goal is to buy shares and hold them, make sure the account supports buying shares outright. For an explanation of the basics of orders and ownership, see the guide to stock trading for beginners.
Trading forex, Gold, Commodities, and Indices in Lebanon
When comparing services for trading forex, gold, commodities, and indices, review the type of contract the broker offers and its terms. For example, if the product is a CFD on gold or oil, you trade on price changes without owning the metal or commodity.
Compare the contract size, minimum trade size, spread and commission, position-holding fees, and trading hours. Don’t assume that a market offered by one broker is available on the same terms at another, or that it qualifies for an exemption from overnight fees.
To understand your gold exposure options before choosing a broker, see the guide to ways to trade and invest in gold.
Can Cryptocurrencies Be Traded From Lebanon?
It is not accurate to describe cryptocurrency platforms as licensed by Banque du Liban simply because they accept users from Lebanon or allow payments in dollars. You must verify the entity, its activities, and the specific regulatory approval.
Article 10 of Basic Decision No. 7548, attached to Basic Circular No. 69, as published by Banque du Liban, prohibits banks and financial institutions from issuing virtual assets, dealing in them, or facilitating dealings in them in any way, except as permitted under regulations issued by Banque du Liban on the matter.
This provision applies to the banks and financial institutions it addresses; it should not automatically be construed as a blanket rule governing every individual action. Licensing for electronic money or payment services does not establish licensing to provide cryptocurrency services.
Before evaluating any service related to a digital asset, check the latest regulations and approvals, as well as the product type, custody, and withdrawal arrangements. Don’t treat the availability of USDT or another asset on a foreign platform as proof that the platform is approved in Lebanon, or as an automatically suitable way to fund your account.

What Are the Risks of Leverage and Margin in Trading?
Leverage lets you control a trading position larger than the amount required as margin, magnifying the effect of price movements on your account, whether they move in your favor or against you.
Leverage and margin requirements vary by broker, legal entity, account type, asset, and client classification, so no single ratio applies to all traders in Lebanon. For a detailed explanation of how leverage works and how to calculate margin, see the guide Leverage in Forex Trading.
Simplified hypothetical example for an account denominated in dollars: If you opened a position worth $10,000 with 1:100 leverage, the initial margin required might be $100. If the price moved 1% against your position, the theoretical loss would be about $100 before the spread, commissions, slippage, and any other costs—equal to the entire initial margin in this example. The example does not specify the account currency or the leverage ratio available from each broker in Lebanon.
But initial margin does not cap your losses. The actual outcome of a trade may differ because of market movements, forced liquidation rules, and price gaps. Protection from negative balances also varies by legal entity and account.
Before using leverage, review the margin requirements, forced liquidation level, and position size, and determine how much of a loss you can tolerate rather than choosing a broker based on the highest leverage available.
How Do You Choose a Forex Broker That Accepts Clients in Lebanon?
When comparing forex services offered to residents in Lebanon, first check the legal entity, the licensing of its activities, and its status regarding providing services to clients in Lebanon. Then compare the costs of the currency pairs you want to trade, the account type, execution policy, leverage, and trading platform. Acceptance of your registration alone is not enough to choose a broker.
If you rely on MT4, MT5, or automated trading, check that the trading platform supports the tools or Expert Advisors you need before opening an account.
You should also review overnight fees or the terms of a Swap-Free account, as well as the deposit and withdrawal methods available to you. A broker’s acceptance of residents of Lebanon does not necessarily mean it holds a Lebanese license.
How Do You Open a Trading Account in Lebanon, Step by Step?
The steps for opening a trading account from Lebanon depend on the market you want to access. An account for buying stocks listed on the Beirut Stock Exchange differs from an account for accessing global markets, and custody, settlement, and funding arrangements may vary across institutions.
How Do You Open an Account With an International Broker From Lebanon?
- Choosing a Broker and Account: Check whether residents of Lebanon are eligible, which entity will serve you, and the available assets, fees, and trading platform.
- Registration and Identity Verification: Enter your personal information and provide identity and address documents, along with any required financial or tax information.
- Review the account terms: Check the product types, leverage, fees, and trading conditions, and use a demo account if one is available.
- Fund the account: Use an eligible payment method in your own name, and review transfer fees and the deposit and withdrawal policy before sending funds.
How Do You Open an Account to Trade Lebanese Stocks?
To buy shares on the Beirut Stock Exchange, choose an approved institution that can execute orders in the market. Ask who will execute the orders and about the custody and settlement arrangements, and verify that the service is currently available for your account.
Prepare your ID or passport, proof of address, bank account details, and any financial information the broker requests based on your circumstances. Don’t assume every institution requires the same documents.
Before funding the account, review the account agreement and fees for trading, custody, and securities transfers. Ask how ownership of the shares is documented, how to obtain account statements, how distributions are received, and how trades are settled.
Don’t assume that having an account with a global broker automatically lets you buy Lebanese stocks, or that a local account provides access to all foreign markets. Check which markets and securities are available and what restrictions apply to each account.
What Deposit and Withdrawal Methods Are Available for Trading Accounts in Lebanon?
Deposit and withdrawal methods from Lebanon vary depending on the broker, legal entity, bank, account currency, and source of funds. Ask in advance for confirmation that a transfer from your specific account will be accepted and that funds can be returned to it. Do not assume that the conditions are the same for different bank balances or Fresh Funds accounts.
Before depositing, check the accepted currency, bank, broker, and correspondent-bank fees, transfer limits, any conditions related to the source of funds, processing time, and withdrawal policy. Ask which currency the funds will be received in and whether any currency conversion or restrictions apply to the payment method.
Some brokers may advertise local methods alongside bank transfers and cards, such as wallets or money transfer services. But a payment method offered by one broker is not necessarily available through all brokers, and not every card or bank account will be accepted. Check which methods are available for your specific account.
| Payment Method | What to Check |
|---|---|
| Bank transfer | Official beneficiary details, currency, bank and correspondent-bank fees, and how long the transfer takes to arrive |
| Bank cards | Whether the method is available for your account, deposit and withdrawal limits, currency conversion fees, and refund rules |
| E-wallets | Whether the wallet is available in your country and for your account, verification requirements, and transfer and withdrawal fees |
The withdrawal processing time is not necessarily the time it takes for the funds to arrive. The published time may refer to how long the broker takes to approve the request; the bank or payment provider may then need additional time to deposit the funds into your account.
Always use the funding instructions shown on the website or in the official client area, and never transfer money to a personal account or an entity whose relationship to the broker is unclear.
Are Trading Profits in Lebanon Taxable?
It is not accurate to generalize that trading profits in Lebanon are entirely exempt from taxes. According to PwC’s tax summary, tax treatment varies depending on the type of income, the investor’s status, the asset, and the nature of the transaction. Some cases are exempt, while others are taxable.
For example, the summary distinguishes between selling shares in a foreign joint-stock company, selling interests in a limited liability company, and a transaction considered commercial for a resident. It also mentions special rules for certain companies associated with real estate. Therefore, do not apply an exemption for a particular case to forex, CFDs, interest, or distributions. Check the applicable tax treatment and required filing based on your circumstances, and keep personal investments separate from investments made through a company.
Frequently Asked Questions About the Best Brokers in Lebanon
Which Broker Is Best for Beginners in Lebanon?
For a beginner, the best broker is one that provides access to the market they want, is appropriately licensed, charges clear fees, offers an easy-to-use platform, and has a demo account if available. First decide whether you want to buy actual shares outright or trade CFDs; the two services differ in ownership and risk.
How Can I Make Sure a Broker Is Licensed in Lebanon?
Search for the legal name in the Lebanese Capital Markets Authority’s register of approved institutions, and check Banque du Liban’s records based on the type of institution. Verify the licensing status, scope of activity, and service terms; don’t rely on the group name or images of licenses alone.
Are Any Brokerage Firms Locally Licensed in Lebanon?
Yes. The Capital Markets Authority’s register includes a category for approved financial brokerage institutions, alongside banks and financial institutions. However, the approved activities differ by institution, so check that the activity you need, such as dealing in securities or custody, is listed for the institution you plan to work with.
What Is the Minimum Amount to Open a Trading Account in Lebanon?
The minimum varies by broker, account, and deposit method. Review the actual account terms: the advertised minimum deposit may differ from the amount needed to buy an asset or meet the margin requirement for a trade, and it does not determine what amount is right for you.
Which Broker Is Best for Trading Lebanese Stocks?
Choose an institution that lets you buy actual shares on the Beirut Stock Exchange, then compare fees, who executes orders, custody and settlement, and whether you can transfer shares. Check which services are available with the account; general financial licensing does not establish that every security or market is available.
Is an Islamic Account Free of All Fees?
No. The account may be exempt from certain overnight fees, although spreads and commissions still apply, or administrative fees may apply under the broker’s terms. The Swap-Free label alone is also not enough to determine whether all transactions are Sharia-compliant.
Does an international broker’s license mean my account is licensed in Lebanon?
No. The legal entity you contract with determines which entity oversees your account. The fact that it accepts residents of Lebanon or that another company in the group is licensed in Lebanon does not mean the same licensing applies to your foreign account.
Are trading profits in Lebanon always tax-exempt?
No. Tax treatment varies depending on the type of income, the asset, the investor’s status, and the nature of the activity, and exemptions may apply in specific cases. Don’t generalize the tax treatment of selling a particular stock to interest, distributions, or CFDs. Check the tax filing requirements that apply to your situation.
